Metals and Minerals

Kanas's mineral portfolio and product mix is applications driven. Built upon a solid foundation of product quality and consistency, and with knowledge gained through basic and applied research, customer partnering and product development, our goal is to supply industry with proven, performance oriented industrial minerals.

Kanas is a worldwide supplier to the glass, fiberglass, ceramic, semiconductor, quartz lighting, paint and coatings, fiberoptics, foundry and oil and gas industries. We also play a major role in the plastics, rubber, paper and paperboard, refractory, metallurgical and construction industries.

Our strong minerals are Sulphur, Manganese (Turkey Origin), Wollastonite, Kaolin, Fledspar, China Clay, Ball Clay, Red Lead, Dolomite, Talc and many minerals as listed below. Here is the list of the chemicals we are strong at supplying to our clients.

Sulphur - Granular, Flakes, Lumps, and Powder Forms

Kanas sources and export directly from Sulphur mines in Iraq, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and other Sulphur resources in many regions of the world. Sulphur is an important industrial raw material which is used in the manufacture of sulphuric acid, in the manufacture of sulphur dioxide and sodium sulphite which are used for bleaching straw and wood fibers, and for removing lignin from wood pulp for the paper industry, and in the manufacture of organic chemicals which contain sulphur. Kaolin - Calcined Kaolin

Kanas supplies Kaolinite to many main industries. Kaolin is used in ceramics, medicine, coated paper, as a food additive, in toothpaste, as a light diffusing material in white incandescent light bulbs, and in cosmetics. It is generally the main component in porcelain. It is also used in paint to extend titanium dioxide (TiO2) and modify gloss levels; in rubber for semi-reinforcing properties and in adhesives to modify rheology. The largest use is in the production of paper, including ensuring the gloss on some grades of paper. Commercial grades of kaolin are supplied and transported as dry powder, semi-dry noodle or as liquid slurry.

Dolomite - ( 100 - 2400 Mesh  - 98% Whiteness - Turkey Origin )

Kanas supplies Dolomite ( from 100 Mesh to 200-300-400 upto 2400 Mesh )to many main industries. The inherent differences between dolomite and calcite drive the applications for dolomite. Dolomite is chosen for many construction and building product applications due to its increased hardness and density. Asphalt and concrete applications prefer dolomite as a filler for its higher strength and hardness. Dolomite also finds use in a number of applications as a source of magnesium such as glass and ceramics manufacture, as well as a sintering agent in iron ore pelletization and as a flux agent in steel making. Farmers use dolomite for agricultural pH control. The chemical industry uses the mineral dolomite in making magnesium salts including magnesia, magnesium oxide (MgO), which is used in pharmaceuticals. The alteration process that forms dolomite tends to bring in additional impurities that reduce brightness or tint the stone brown or gray. In regions where high brightness dolomites do exist, they share many of the applications of calcium carbonate.
